Hotel heiress walks free after bizarre 3-week stay

Celebrity socialite Paris Hilton is received by her mother Kathy Hilton as she leaves the Lynnwood jailhouse in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

It’s back to the not-so-solitary-life for Paris Hilton, who walked out of jail early Tuesday into a gathering of cameras and reporters, flashing a beaming smile and waving to the frenzied crowd.

The 26-year-old celebutante wrapped up her three-week stay at the all-women’s jail in Lynwood at about 12:15 a.m. She had checked into the Century Regional Detention Facility late June 3, largely avoiding the spotlight, after a surprise appearance at the MTV Movie Awards.

Hilton smiled and waved as she filed past sheriff’s deputies and the media, her blond hair pulled back in a braided ponytail. Her parents, Kathy and Rick Hilton, waited in a black sport utility vehicle. Hilton hurried to the vehicle, where she hugged her mother through the SUV’s window.

The hotel heiress, who was wearing a sage jacket with white trim over a white shirt and skinny jeans, didn’t respond to reporters’ questions.

“She fulfilled her debt. She was obviously in good spirits. She thanked people as she left,” said sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore.

Chased by photographers in the air and on the street, Hilton eventually made her way from the jail to her grandparents’ home in Los Angeles’ ritzy Holmby Hills area north of Sunset Boulevard.

Incarcerated Paris Hilton will give her first live interview following her release from prison on Tuesday (26June07) to talk show host Larry King.  The socialite will appear on Cnn show Larry King Live to give a one hour talk on her experiences in prison.  And the hotel heiress is thrilled she will be giving the interview to the award-winning American broadcaster.

She says, "I am thrilled that Larry King has asked me to appear on his programme to discuss my experience in jail, what I have learned, how I have grown and anything else he wants to talk about. Larry King is not only a world-renown journalist, but a true American icon. It will be an honour to do his show."

Yet another week where the top film in Seoul and the top film in the rest of the country differed. BLACK HOUSE was the top film nationwide, according to the official KOBIS report.

And yet again, OCEAN'S 13 was the top film, even though there were four movies (BLACK HOUSE, SHREK 3, PIRATES 3 and HWANG JIN-YI) with more screens than the George Clooney casino movie. Amusingly, three of those films (all except PIRATES 3) were distributed by CJ Entertainment, a credit to the company's clout. HWANG JIN-YI, despite finishing in seventh this week, is still playing on 286 screens.

Sad to see HOT FUZZ open so poorly. But audiences here clearly missed out on most of the jokes in the first two-thirds of the movie -- especially the puns (which is to be expected, I guess) and the homoeroticism (no comment).

Song Hye kyo and Yoo Ji Tae were promoting their new movie Hwang Jin Yi last Sunday, which it the 17th.
Song Hye Kyo was bothered by one of her crazy fan. When Song Hye kyo was about to go back to the back stage, a crazy man rushed forward trying to get to her side. Before all the body guard can even make a reaction, Yoo Ji Tae jumped out and blocked that man. Because of his protection, Song Hye Kyo was safe, but he, himself got into a miner injury on his hand. Everybody was shocked afterwards. The producing company of this movie said Yoo Ji Tae was very gentleman like. He always hold Song Hye Kyo when she is trying to climb the stairs.
