Hong Kong actress Anne Heung, the top Miss Hong Kong in 1998, has quit her career in the entertainment circle and became an office lady in Shanghai.

China News Service reported on Tuesday that Heung said she still cannot adapt to the life of an entertainer after ten years, which was presumed to be the main reason for her choice.

As the last singer to hold a concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum before renovations, Kelly Chen's "Love Fighters 2008" concert drew to a close last night. In front of an audience of 20,000 near the end of the concert, Kelly announced that she will get married soon to her boyfriend of many years, Alex Lau. During the announcement, Kelly could not hide her joy and started crying. She said that after marriage, she will continue her work in the entertainment industry and will NOT quit the industry.

512 Fundraising Campaign Concert Raises $31m Print E-mail

Bringing together over 500 acts from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and SE Asia, the Artistes 512 Fundraising Campaign <演藝界512關愛行動> concert took place this afternoon at the West Kowloon Reclamation Site to raise money for the Sichuan Earthquake Disaster Relief Fund.

The show started at 2:28 pm and went on until 10:00 pm, providing non-stop entertainment to members of the public, who were charged a minimum $20 donation to enter. 100 telephone lines were also set up for people to ring in and pledge donations throughout the duration the show, which was also televised on both TVB and ATV.

A one-minute silence marked the start of the show to remember the people who had died when the earthquake, measuring 7.8 on the Richter Scale, struck a massive area across Sichuan at 2:28 pm on 12 May 2008.

Andy & Sammi Meet Sichuan Aid Workers Print E-mail

HKPAG representatives including Andy Lau (劉德華), Sammi Cheng (鄭秀文) and Joey Yung (容祖兒) have arrived in the areas of Sichuan affected by the earthquake earlier this month.

The celebrities attended a Buddhist prayer ceremony today at Chengdu's Baoguang Temple to pray for the victims and survivors of the disaster, which has left over 80,000 dead and displaced millions of people.
