Hacken Lee (李克勤) and Emily Lo (盧淑儀) became proud parents of a baby boy on Sunday evening (22 October) and the news was announced on behalf of the couple by good friend Alan Tam (譚詠麟) to the press whilst attending an awards ceremony in Suzhou.

The baby was delivered by Caesarean section and weighed 6 lbs 8 oz. Mother and son are both doing well and the baby's English name has been chosen as Ryan, probably named after Manchester United footballer Ryan Giggs. His Chinese name is yet to be decided.

Alan explained that as the baby was born early, Hacken was caught by surprise, so was very busy making arrangements and looking after his wife and child, so he will be speaking to everyone in person a little later on. Hacken welcomed his son by his wife's side, harbouring feelings of happiness and excitement. Asked whether the baby looks more like his father or his mother, Alan said that babies change by the day, so every day is different.

As for what gift he will be buying for the baby, Alan laughed it will be the same as what Nicholas Tse (謝霆鋒) received. Asked what advice he has for Hacken on fatherhood, he said that the most important thing is to support the baby's head when holding him and not to frighten him. He added that Hacken has plenty of help from the elders in his family, so he does not need to worry.

Hacken and Emily met during the 1992 Miss Hong Kong Pageant, where Hacken was the guest performer on the location shoot in England. Emily went on to win the competition, but the news of their romance broke soon afterwards and after a long courtship, the couple finally tied the knot in a grand wedding ceremony on 28 November 2006. Football fanatic and massive Manchester United fan Hacken arranged to have their wedding photos taken at United's ground at Old Trafford.

The couple have kept a low profile since the annoucement of Emily's pregnancy and she has been staying out of the limelight, learning the skills of parenthood.
