TVB's Artiste Development Department (藝員發展科) held a Chinese New Year Reunion and Celebration party this evening at TVB City, attended by around fifty of the station's managed artistes who joined the company's guests, executives and sponsors.

Before the show, artistes including Lee Si Kei (李司棋), Susanna Kwan (關菊英), Moses Chan (陳豪), Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎), Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼), Gigi Lai (黎姿) appeared on the red carpet decked out in their festive fineries in many shades of lucky reds, pinks and oranges to welcome in the new year. Some artistes, including Francois Huynh (黃長發) and Yoyo Chen (陳自瑤) made an extra special effort with their traditional style outfits. Tavia Yeung (楊怡) had taken time out from filming to attend the event, so she appeared wearing her period costume.

The show was opened in the traditional manner by a lion dance, led by rumoured couples Bosco Wong (黃宗澤) and Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) and Raymond Lam (林峯) and Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣). Showing their importance in the company, the couples were also arranged to perform duets together later on in the show, together with Kevin and Charmaine.

With the success and achievements of a number of dance related shows last year, a showcase of jazz, Latin and ballroom dancing was performed by artistes including Bernice Liu (廖碧兒), Steven Ma (馬浚偉), Joe Ma (馬德鐘), Fala Chen (陳法拉), Matthew Ko (高鈞賢), Michael Tse (謝天華) and Shirley Yeung (楊思琦).

The comedy provided by impersonation specialists Wong Cho Lam (王祖藍) and Johnson Lee (李思捷) have now become the highlight of TVB's shows and this was no exception. Teaming up with Kenneth Ma (馬國明) and two other male artistes, they gave a rather convincing performance of TVB's answer to the Wynners.

Lai Lok Yi (黎諾懿) added to the variety of acts by giving a display of magic tricks, with the help from his beautiful assistants Tavia and Fala. A touch of glamour was also added to the proceedings by a display of fashion and swimwear by the department's former beauty queens.

A lucky prize draw and group photograph rounded off the party as the artistes joined together to wish everyone a happy Chinese new year.
