Sammi Cheng (鄭秀文) beams as she leaves the Kiangsu And Chekiang Residents Association restaurant after a celebratory dinner party for her 36th birthday, 18 August 2008, Central, Hong Kong. Her birthday wish was simply for continued happiness.

Sammi Cheng (鄭秀文) celebrated her 36th birthday yesterday evening. After converting to Christianity, it seems that she has ditched her reputation as a drunken party animal, opting instead for a more sedate dinner party at the Kiangsu And Chekiang Residents Association restaurant in Central, with some of her church friends.

Sammi emerged from the venue after the meal at around 10pm and happily answered questions from the waiting press. She was smiling and had obviously enjoyed her evening. Asked what her birthday wish was, she replied that she hoped to continue being happy. She added that she had received a lot of gifts from her friends, but was called away before she revealed what she had received.

When the reporters called out for her to have a happy birthday, she turned back and gave a polite thanks before saying goodbye.
