Over a hundred pop stars from Hong Kong's music scene were gathered together yesterday for the TVB Singers Celebrate The Anniversary <翡翠歌星賀台慶> press conference. Among the singers present were Eason Chan (陳奕迅), Miriam Yeung (楊千嬅), Denise Ho (何韻詩), Charlene Choi (蔡卓妍) and Justin Lo (側田). 

To tie in with the anniversary theme, the singers will be appearing on the main show in costumes depicting international music stars from 1967 to the present. Justin became the centre of the jokes when TVB music show host Benjamin Chiang (姜文傑) suggested he should dress up as famous bald actor and opera star Law Kar Ying (羅家英). Justin replied that he will be appearing as Q-Taro (Q太郎) instead, but MC Carol Cheng (鄭裕玲) pointed out that Q-Taro is just a cartoon character. Then Justin suggested maybe he should appear as Lowell Lo (盧冠廷). When she heard this, Carol warned him to consider carefully because it meant that he would have to take his cap off. Later Justin laughed that Carol and Benjamin were just having some fun. He added that he will keep his cap on as long as he stays in the limelight, so the time his cap comes off will be when he moves back behind the scenes.

Charlene revealed that she will be appearing as Priscilla Chan (陳慧嫻) during her "Silly Girl" era, but when she had contacted Priscilla to borrow the outfit, she found that the dress had been given to a fan as a gift. Charlene said that she will have a costume made up for the show and then auction it for charity afterwards.

Eason will be donning some false teeth and dreadlocks for his Bob Marley impression. He revealed that he had toyed with many ideas including Roman Tam (羅文) and the four heavenly kings, but had finally decided on this costume.

Miriam was asked about recent reports that she had been spotted on holiday in Shanghai with rumoured boyfriend Real Ting (丁子高) and his family. She refused to respond to the questions and said that these reports were getting too boring now. She said that events on that day were simply a series of coincidences.

The singers show will kick off TVB's anniversary month events on 01 November.
