The 28th Hong Kong Film Awards Ceremony came to a close last night. After 20 years in the film industry Nick Cheung 張家輝 has claimed 'Best Actor' in the EEG film 'Beast Stalker,' while Paw Hee-Ching the hot favourite to claim 'Best Actress' on the night. Ip Man won 'Best Picture' and 'Best Director' goes to 'Ann Hui' for the movie 'The Way We Are.' The Ceremony was held at Hong Kong Cultural Center in Tsim Sha Tsui. The 42 year old Nick Cheung has beaten Donnie Yen and Tony Leung to take home the 'Best Actor' award for his amazing performance in 'Beast Stalker.' He showed a big smile as he stepped on the stage, thanking everyone around him esecially to his wife and his sister whom had past away, he described his success can only happen with the teamwork used in this film production.
Now aged 60, Paw Hee-Ching 鮑起靜 has been in the film industry for over 40 years, her role in 'The Way We Are' as an ordinary household wife has earned her the award. She congradulated the other four nominees and thanked her parents for bringing her up and the director for making this film possible.
When the 'Best Picture' was awarded to 'Ip Man,' Executive Producer Raymond Wong explained that the award included everyone that made the film possible and told Donnie Yen not to be too disppointed.
