Hi all, i thought i'd post my list of my fav/worst Korean movies that i've watched.

P.S. Ive also added a list of movies that i'd like to add to my collection. I know
some can be found on this site, but not all. If anyone has got some of the movies
please could you let me know for future reference. So when i have watched the movies that i have currently got, i know where to download the ones from the list.

all the time since i "borrow" my neighbour's wireless internet connection.

I was up last night creating rar files for the movies you wanted: Aachi & Ssipak,
(Absolutely awesome movie!!! Very funny. Those little green dudes are so funny) and
Take Care Of My Cat (I absolutely LOVED this movie!!! Great OST as well!!! Korean ppl can ACT!!!).

I coudlnt find Rules Of Dating anywhere. probably saved it on a dvd. I'll have a look 4 it tonight.

I have never uploaded anything this big so i dont know how long it will take. I'll just leave
my laptop on for a couple of days. LOL. I'll be using MegaUpload to upload the movies. If you dont
have an account, i'll give you my login details. (Might as well give it to people since i dont
really use it that much). Just let me know if you want it.

Thanks 4 letin me know about Scary Girl. I cant download it at the moment though since all my hard
drives are absolutely full!!! Aint got no space for nothing!!! I have 3 external hard drives,
all 250GB, and they are all full. I use 1 for my anime collection (Here's my list if u into
anime (http://www.popularasians.com/showthread.php?t=12928), 1 for my movies. I have other movies
that are not on the list e.g. English/Japanese/Other etc, and the other hard drive is for
my tutorials (Photoshop/Flash/Illustrator etc) and TV programs (CSI, 24, X-Files, Friends etc).

Sorry i got carried away from the topic. I just spent ages downlaoding my stuff, i want ppl 2
know that i have it. if that makes any sense. LOL

Anyway, i'll upload the movies 4 u A.S.A.P. (I could have avoided the chit-chat n just said this. LOL)


P.S. I watched JSA Joint Security Area last night. Very good movie so it also goes in the EXCELLENT movie list.

Oh and i read ur post that u put up in PA. If you want to watch a romantic comedy, make sure you watch
How To Keep My Love. I thought that was quite funny.

For sad movies you HAVE to watch A Moment To Remember, Fly High, Ing & My Girl and I.
All were absolutely brilliant. They had a mix of romance and comedy in it too. but they were very sad too.

Im uploading Aachi n Ssipak right now so it should be done by the time i get back from work. If not, it will be done by 2morro. Im just gona leave my laptop on n go to work.

Yeah u need a MegaUpload account 4 downloading!!! LOL. This way, u dont have to type in the letters and wait for a while for your download 2 start. Downloads are usually quicker as well.

Use it as much as you like. I think my account runs out on the 20th of June, but i will renew it by then.

Yeah i do have some old movies. I downloaded most of my movies in 1 night. I was at uni doing an all-nighter as you do when you get loads of coursework, n i found this site when i was bored. I hadn't watched Korean movies b4, so i thought i might as well download some. I ended up downloading atleast 50 movies in one day!!! LOL. Download speed at uni was SOooooo FAST!!! Didnt get much work done. Hahaha.

Now i dont really have the time to download any new movies since i started work. I think i need to start watching the movies i have at the moment and then download some more. LOL.

How To Keep My Love was a really good movie. Had some good laughs watching that movie. If you cant find it on this site i'll upload it as well. I think i downloaded it using torrents. I cant remember.

Haha. If you lived near me, i would have gladly gave you some DVDs full of movies. LOL. My mates always come round asking 4 movies. Haha

Im just working at an electrical company. Sorting out customer's information. Just a part-time job while i study. I had a crappy day yesterday cause some idiot manager was havin a go at me. I so wanted to punch him in the face, but i didnt. LOL

Yeah i thought Windstruck was a disappointment. First i dunno... 20mins was quite funny but then the story just started to go AWOL. LOL. My friend told me My Sassy Girl is quite good. I'll have to watch that soon.

haha.. hope you like My Sassy Girl. It was actually my first Korean movie and I fell in love with it ever since. I watched Windstruck next and it was a disappoinment for me too. The funny thing is, the review for Windstruck is better than My Sassy Girl.. and that really puzzles me. Hope you have fun catching up with your yet-to-watch list

My 1st Korean movie i watched was Oldboy. AMAZING!!!! Started downloading Korean movies ever since.

Yeah, I was checking out Wikipedia and Windstruck had one of the best reviews. Thats why i downloaded it. It was HUGE success in Korean box office: 8th-highest grossing Korean film of 2004.
I think My Sassy Girl was compared to Titanic. The highest grossing movie ever. i think.

BTW I was watching parts of Take Care Of My Cat again yesterday. Young Korean actors can REALLY act!!! I seriously lve that movie. I'll upload it soon xiaojia. Dont worry. LOL.
Hopefully Aachi and Ssipak will be done by the time i get back from work 2day. Ive only got like 2 parts out of 8 left to upload.

I'll try to have fun at work. I would get a graphi design related job, but its really hard to find in the UK. One thing is you need experience, which i dont have and there are very few graphic design companies in my area. Most of them are in London. a few hundred miles away from the city i live in. LOL

Watched My Sassy Girl last night. Same actress from Windstruck. Same kind of storyline. Didnt like it at all!!! Couldnt wait 4 the movie to end, and couldnt wait to DELETE it!!! LOL
I think the plot was too weird that it just didnt make any sense 2 me. I dont like movies like that. I was gona stop watching it half way, but i thought something good might come up.... and it didnt.

If you really want to watch some really really really good Korean Romantic Comedies, i would recommend:

Romantic Comedy: 100 Days with Mr Arrogant and How To Keep My Love.
Part Romantic Comedy/ Part Sad: A Moment To Remember, Fly High, Ing, My Girl And I.

All in my EXCELLENT movie list. I prefer movies like these. Good storylines, awesome acting, some good humour, some emotional moments and a good ending.

Seriously, if you haven't watched these, make sure you do. I'll upload as much as i can.

Haha.. different movies attract diff ppl.. to me, all those qualities exist in My Sassy Girl. haha.. maybe you dun like outrageous plots. Cloud is going to watch that soon I suppose.. maybe can hear what he/she have to say abt it.

O.. just to add, great movies usually have mix reviews, ppl either hate it or love it. And thats important, because at least it left an impression. Well.. at least thats what I think. Since you didn't like the movie, I rather you place it under disappointment than watchable :)

O.. windstruck was similar.. but it was a ripoff.. My Sassy Girl came out in 2001.. can consider it a breakthrough of this genre then.. The movies you like came out years after My Sassy Girl.. so I guess it should be expected that they are better in one way or another. O.. forgot to mention.. I watched My Sassy Girl in 2001.. lol.. so if I were in your position now.. watcing it for the first time in 2007.. I might think the same

P.S. Something about MegaUpload that i forgot to let you in on. Say you create a month or 2 month account and in that period you upload loads of stuff and other people download it. I thought u already read the plot to Aachi n Ssipak. Thats why u wanted to see it. LOL. I thought it was absolutely hilarious. Those little green things were cracking me up. I read the storyline about "a town of shit" which i thought would be a bit weird but im glad i watched it. i especially loved the matrix type slow-mo camera trix. HAHA

BTW. Im at uni now, so i should be able to upload quite a bit of movies 2nite 4 u to enjoy. LOL. More details in a couple of hours. Inabit

P.S. Have u seen Grave Of The Fireflies??? The saddest movie you will EVER see!!! I was crying like a baby when i saw that. Its a japanese animated movie. i'll upload that as well when i can.

I hate group work... people in your group never do their share of work. i had to do 5 people's coursework to myself an A* (The highest grade possible). this was in college by the way. i got about 20hrs sleep in 7days!!! roughly 3hrs a day!!! looking back at it now, it was so funny. lost so much weight and hair, became so moody, had BLACK eyes!!! literally!!!

I added the "2 good 2 b true" list which i think include movies that are absolutely BRILLIANT. Loved them from start 2 finish. ^ I watched it.. its a really good movie. Although they used fairly stereotypes as characters.. it is still not easy making a movie with so many leads. And it really captures the emotions one will have to go through in entering the adult world.. and how friendships change. But I suppose it is best for teenagers ard 18-20 years old.. For me, the events have already taken place, and thoughts sorted out.. so it kind of hits me as a reflection of my thoughts years ago. nonetheless.. its going into my great movies category. Thanks!

Awesome. I was amazed at how the actors could naturally follow their roles. Especially the main characters, Tae-hee and Jiyoung. I thought their acting was amazing. I love movies about reality. How people cope in certain situations etc. Especially when they include talented actors, like in this movie.

Hmmm. From the ones that ive been watching, they are pretty much all in this category: Romance/Comedy/Emotional.

I'd say probably the same list as before, but i'd definitely recommend How To Keep My Love and 100 Days With Mr.Arrogant. Very funny films in my opinion. Ive uploaded How To Keep My Love in the download section, but u cant access that yet can u.

I would include My Girl And I and Fly High in Romance/Comedy section as well. But they are really sad too. A Moment To Remember is Very sad and romantic.

I was trying to find a nice movie from my collection to watch yesterday, but i ended up watching bits of
My Girl and I. The main actress from the movie is absolutely, amazingly, mind-bogglingly, astoundingly,
wonderfully, incredibly, undeniably one of the most beautiful actresses i have ever seen!

I can describe her using just 3 letters: W...0...W = WOW!!!!

There goes another reason why i wish i was born/i lived in Korea, *big sigh*.

I think ive got some really high standards in movies. I watched 200 Pounds Beauty the other day and
i didnt think much of it. Maybe because ive seen Shallow Hal (Similar English version which was a lot
better). Not many funny moments, just one i think when Haana's friends walks into the Police Station
and she just completely blanked her. lol. I did really like the OST though. I especially like the
song when "Jenny" auditioned. I have no idea what it the lyrics mean, but its a nice song. lol

P.S. Was that her actual singing??? I was thinking that it must be mimicked, but it looks too real.
Maybe its just me.... Oh and she was really gorgeous too. Not as much as the girl from My Girl and I though.
She is on another level. haha

how do we download these movies? can you burn them afterwards?

Ive uploaded some movies in the download section and Xiaojia cas kindly provided links for the movies she has uploaded on the 1st page of this thread, so there's ur download links.

Now to burn them onto DVD.... Most of these files are AVI format which if u burn onto DVD, will not play on your DVD format. AVI files have been designed to play on computers taking up a lot less space than a normal DVD. If you'd like to convert it into DVD format and then watch it on a DVD player, i suggest u use a program called ConvertX ToDVD. There are othe similar programs out there, but i find this the easiest to use.

It allows u to convert a wide range of files, including AVI into DVD format. I must stress, depending on ur computer processor power, it will take a while for a video to convert. Normally it will take around 2hrs. So i suggest you leave ur PC running and attend to other tasks (not on ur PC, as it will slow the process down) e.g. clean ur room, wash the dishes etc. lol

After about 2hrs, when its complete, insert a blank DVD and burn the movie.

Anyways... I watched Daddy Long Legs last night, not a good movie in my opinion. Thought it was rather boring at times and had a silly storyline. I only decided to watch it because of the main actress. I thought she acted really well in 100 Days With Mr Arrogant.

My disappointing movies list contains the movies that i thought were crap. I thought 200 Pounds Beauty had some (1 or 2) good points. Like Jenny's audition. I watched that bit quite a few times since she had a really really good voice. I wouldnt put it in my Watchable movie list so i put it under Disappointing.

Different taste it is. I think nxt movie im goin 2 watch is A Millionaire's 1st Love. Heard it is quite good, but hearing and seeing are 2 different things. lol

Watched Fly Daddy Fly b4 going to sleep last night (I was i'll so i had nothing else to do but watch stuff all day :))
Movie has some really funny moments. Its a really good movie with some gr8 acting. Only thing i didnt like was the fight scene at the end. Apart from that, it will go in my REALLY REALLY REALLY GREAT MOVIES section.

I love the running scene when Daddy is racing the bus. Hahahaha. And the end scene when the dude is dancing. He can DANCE!!!!!

I loved "A Moment to Remember" although the storyline was a little unbelievable. The movie had a lot of emotions and both leads gave an outstanding performance. "My Girl and I" is also great too, love Song Hye Gyo. I didn't get to see "Fly High" yet but based on the other 2 recommendation you have, I'm going to go and see the movie when I have the chance.

Maybe the reason you don't like My Sassy Girl and WIndstruck is because they are a different genre from the 3 movies you recommended.

See. Another person who doesnt like My Sassy Girl and 200 Pounds Beauty. LOL. The only good thing about 200 Pounds Beauty was when the woman (cant rmmbr her name) auditioned 2 sing a song. That was really amazing. Her voice rocked. Had to get the OST cause of that. LOL

I heard Sex Is Zero is really good. Might watch it soon. Legend Of Seven Cutter was OK.

The funny thing about "My Sassy Girl" is that the movie is based on a true story. If you ever get to read the writing of the guy, it actually match the movie. There are some parts of the story that the real life person wrote were more outrageous.

I rate movies by analyzing 3 things: Acting, the Storyline and the Execution. It doesnt matter what type of movie it is; sad, happy, adventure, action etc. Everyone says i have really high standards. Sometimes it stops me from going to the movies with my friends. Lol -lol

OMG!!! I just watched one of the funniest Korean movies ever. LOL. "She's On Duty" was so HILARIOUS!!! I loved It. There are so many talented young Korean actors/actresses out there. I wish i saw this movie in the cinemas. You know, they should have a cinema for Eastern movies and anime (Korea, Japanese, Chinese etc) in the UK. They would make so much money. I'll be there everyday trying to impress some hot Korean girl. LOL. Joke. Nah, seriously though, a cinema and a massive karaoke bar would be so popular with the orientals. I think anyway.

Back to the movie: Very very funny, great acting by all cast, good storyline, a bit over the top at some parts but still definitely worth watching :D.

Woah!!! Watched My Boss, My Hero and GODDAMMN!!!!!! Koreans love to hit ppl. Especially with the slaps on the head. Whats up with that?
There are some brutal smacks in this movie. I felt sorry for the ppl that were getting hit. Especially this one school girl who got

I think the only Korean movie I've ever watched was 200 Pounds Beauty.

I liked Guns and Talks, but probably only because I am a fan of Won Bin. Otherwise, the plot is kind of cliche, and the story is a little slow at parts, but, I thought it was good.

Dasepo Naughty Girls was probably the weirdest thing I've ever watched. The second OST is REALLY, REALLY good, though.

^lol. yeah that movie was SICK. It was Old Boy which made me fall in love with Korean Cinema. It was an Excellent film. It was the 1st time i saw something that disgusting and weird but at the same time i could not take my eyes off my tellie. lol. its just one of those movies. Brilliant directing and superb acting by all cast.

remember that scene with the squid? lol. that was REAL!!!! He actually munched on a real life squid. that was disgusting but was one of the things that made the movie so brilliant. Old Boy OST was awesome as well. Best revenge movie ever.

Oldboy is my favorite movie...ever. Followed closely by Lady Vengeance, but I never got into the first one, just seemed a bit jumbled. And how could you say Attack The Gas Station is crap!?! I loved that movie just because it was so mad cap crazy.
