Do you eat healthy?
Is poor eating and obesity really a growing problem?

yes and yes
People, including myself, are so lazy these days when it comes to eating and being active. It seems like people want to be able to eat in 10 minutes and they want the perfect workout in 10 minutes and they are willing to drive an hour to work

You have not seen nevada, or texas. Ever since that movie my parents think I've gone wacko to stop liking so much of McDonalds. It sick to know that they don't even cook the chicken nuggets, :puke: . Its really sick 4 ppl who want to become health freaks in an hour watch the video, but if you don't want to see puke I suggest you don't.

I reckon eating too much and/or obesity is becoming a huge problem. Personally I'm quite lean (fast metabolism) but I often get bored and have a urge to eat! Brainwashed by the multinational's arrrrr!

Yes, Yes.

I am a health freak, so I try to eat as superhealthy as possible.

Poor eating is a growing problem, isn't it like 30%+ of population in North America is overweight/obese? That's why it grosses me out when I see people eat. People have this impression, "Oh, going to mCdonald's once or twice a week won't hurt.'' But it does. If everyone just plan time wisely, they can easily squeeze in 5 minutes to make a healthy lunch/ meal...

I personally can eat all I want and still wont get fat... however not abt the nutrution part... My stomach can burn of like 90% of the calories just by sitting there and not doing anything at all

i try to eat healthily but doing so takes too much time and money. i mean, wash and cook vs popping something in the microwave? plus, unhealthy food is wayyy cheaper. because lots of people want to cut costs...obesity is a big problem.

watched the documentry... found it very intersting..
but then again who really eats mcds everyday anyways..

Its a nice treat.... but then your body would react the same way if you u just ate only one thing for a month..

I had a friend that went kinda vegatarian for a month, she would only eat vegetables and guess what?
One she didn't eat her vegetables properly and the doctor make her go back to eating meat...
Oh btw she only did this to lose weight.. but it was really affecting her health and she was a lil sick.. and made it even worse by by just eating vegggies...

ps: Chicken nuggets.. just fried out of the deep fryer is heavenly food!!

poor mcdonalds...I think that the company is so unfairly target. But I still think eating fast food should only be done once in a long long time. It's true -- bad food = cheap food. It's inevitable... It's in the genes and so if your parents are fat, then you'll most likely end up being chunky as well...

the moral: everything in moderation.

The thing is that fast food shouldn't even be eaten in moderation. According to the documentary, most doctors/physicians the filmmaker interviewed recommended eating fast food once or less a motnh, which is probably a lot different than national averages.

The sicker thing, I think, about fast food is all the chemicals and preservatives they add to the food to make it taste better and addicting. One of the extras on the DVD showed McDonalds french fries in a container like 9 weeks after they were purchased--they didn't change one bit since the purchase date. Disgusting.

I used to be skinny, I would eat and eat, and not gain any weight, and what I was eating was not healthy. Now I eat and drink right, and go to the gym 6 days a week. I'm much bigger, and I feel a lot healthier.

Obesity is a growing problem, from what I've seen, people are so busy they don't take the time to eat right. It's all about processed and microwavable, and fast foods. Additionally, instead of going out and being active they go home and sit on their butts all day.

Yea that was disturbing.

Can't we pick on someone else other than McDs...How about KFC for once. Someone will straight up DIE if they ate KFC 3 times a day.

All fast food are bad ! The amount of chemicals they put into their food to make it taste good will kill you..lol..!

I think home cooking is still the best if you can. Most fast food are easy to come by and there is no need to prepare that is why it creates a bad eating habit for all.

It definitely is a growing problem....and hard as I try to keep in shape: which in not very hard, I've keep going back forth about 10lbs in my weight....which is enough so that certain clothes will look terrible with that addition.

Even though the documentary targets McDonalds, most people I know take it beyond just them. I've only seen portions of it but would love to watch the whole thing.

Wow, they blame Mcdonald for obesity yet deny humanity of their conscience and refuse to exercise. Way to go....

Blaming McDonalds for the obesity is not totally wrong. Afterall, their food is high in calories & high in either fats or simple sugars. I think the main responsibility still lies with the consumers. Be educated and eat well (healthy).

I don't eat MacD regularly to begin with, as I know how terrible the food is, both nutrition (or lack of) wise AND taste wise -- I know that there's no milk in the milkshake and ice-cream, I know the scramble egg is a yolk-coloured mix in a tank about 1m in height etc etc. Super size me just amazed me for that guy's dedication -- he really could have died during that month!

I never understand the appeal of processed meat and microwavable... even when I am on rez. Most of them are too salty and fake and ridden with MSG or other glutamate seasonings =_=b

I heard from a NYtimes health column that study had shown that cooking has a positive impact on healthy eating -- since one will have to KNOW what they are eating if they COOK -- instead of dumping it into the nuke to heat it up. Less additives, less salf and less fat (on average)

And McDonald's is always the target because it's one of the MOST RECOGNIZED fast food brand, the golden arch.

sometimes i would eat healthy, but it is hard to eat healthy in college. Always depend on instant noodle when there is nothing to eat and also when i need food fast. And i believe that obesity is a growing problem especially in the us. Too much sickness comes out from obesity

i actually belive that eating healthy or not really became a question due to the race against time we have nowadays...like back then you can go home to eat and tea or whatever but now its like you got 30 mins get ur food and eat it quick and get back to work that is why fast foods have been growing and places to relax and eat is having an impact because no one has that time no more.

Super Size Me isn't really that bad on the "nasty" side...

... just surprised that guy didn't die of a heart attack or something, lol... >_>;

People these days aren't learning how to cook = more eat out/fast food.

I still pack lunch which does attract the odd looks -- meh, I treasure my health and financial standing more than the so-called "coolness", the bottom line is, one can always choose the LEAST unhealthy food on the menu.
