02-01-2006, 11:21 AM
I use Bit Comet because it does not use Java, like a comment posted earlier, it eats up my PC's resources and slows it down. Since, changing to BC, my PC is stable and downloads are good.
Bitcomet is the best I think. It is easy to use and can handle all the chinese characters. I have used bittornado before, but it just didn't work. so stick with bitcomet.

I have tried other torrents but I still prefer BitComet. It's stable and downloads well. You can adjust the settings easily and see your downloads improve. Added to it is a Pre viewer. If you are impatient you can check out the downloads after a portion has loaded.

I use bitcomet. It's really good, and it does eat up a lot of bandwidth, but I just download stuff as I sleep or go to school. The magic number upload is 40k/s by the way..that's the optimum number to increase your downloading. Making it above 40 k won't help you at all, it will only eat up resources. Your download will acheive it's max according to the seeds and peers.

I've tried BitComet and Azureus.
I stuck to Azureus cos it gave me better speeds - I configured it better I guess.
However, BitComet took far less resources than Azureus - if I left Azureus running all night, I'll end up with around 150MB out of my 1024MB RAM.
Use BitComet if you get decent speeds ;)

I don't think that has anything to do with Utorrent, probably you didn't adjust the settings correctly.

Emule is good, you just need good sites and know how to use it. Like BT, there are plenty of people whining and calling it slow/"worst thing ever". However, I personally think that Emule isn't the most user friendly p2p program.

why do ppl use different ones depending on what they're getting wats the benefit?
why not use different ones? You suggesting that everyone should use the old useless Bittorrent client? There are a lot of options out there that you can choose from. All being better than the original client. Azureus has a lot of settings, which you can tweak to suit your preferences. Even better is utorrent, which has the same level of customization as Azureus, but takes up less memory.
i meant in terms of why do some ppl say that they use utorrent for music but bitcomet for movies or something.
