I am thinking about getting an ipod or something similar and I was just wondering if anyone has any tips from their experiences as to which I should look at?

if u cant afford an ipod there are many many similar and smaller gadgets around. like for $100 these days u could easily pick up a gigger for the size of your pocket. I don't think you'd need anything more then a gig for portable media. just look around there are so many options these days. Look for battery life thats what's most important forget the spacing becuase chances are you'd only listen to 30 songs max.

Yeah, the battery was abig deal for me because I like to take my music on multi day climbing/biking trips where I definitely would not be able to charge something. So it is great to just bring along a spare AAA, or in the case of the sony, the battery seems to last forever. I also agree that more than a gig would be too much for me. And I love the size of the flash players, I can run with it and not even realize it is in my pocket

does anyone know about the creative zen? i asked some guy in my lab once but he was very vague when comparing it to an ipod. he thought the zen was better.
yea battery is a major issue. thats why you should get someting that allows you to change the battery.

I was considering the creative products for that reason. I think the zen lets you actually replace or upgrade the battery

I use to have a creative zen mp3 player, I dont like it though cause its not really reliable. When it stop working, u have to send it to the manufacture & wait like 1 month until its probable fix; also play 1 time payment of 300 HK dollars when your 1 year warrenty ended.

The battery will slow worn out, then u have buy a new one to replace it. -unsure
