Why is that the biggest piles of crap seem to become the new "best" thing. This comment relates to anime. Honestly... I don't understand why some of the shittest series are popular. One good example is Claymore. It has horrible animation that hurts the eyes, below average voice actors, irritating characters and a boring cliched filled story. Yet people seem so attracted to it.
