It has been one month since Andy Lau’s (劉德華) “Little Dragon Girl” was born on May 9th in Hong Kong. Andy cherished the birth of his daughter and his new role as a father. However, the time to return to normalcy has arrived. At the end of June, Andy, his wife, Carol Chu (朱麗倩), and their daughter will return to Malaysia.
Andy Celebrates Milestones with Fan Club
Taking a rare hiatus from his work, Andy focused on taking care of his newborn daughter. On June 9th, Andy met with thousands of his fans in an Andy World Club gathering, celebrating 3 significant milestones: the 24th Anniversay of his fan club, the one month birthday of his daughter, and the birthday of Andy’s father.
The event space was festively decked with 30,000 balloons, with Andy wearing a red tuxedo made of mini red and white balloons! Deanie Ip (葉德嫻), Gordon Lam (林家棟), and Andy’s parents were also present at the fan gathering.
Andy Reveals Hand Photo of Daughter
Known for his intense privacy over his personal life, Andy Lau has not distributed photos of his daughter since her birth. However, he did share a “family hand photo,” in which Andy, Carol Chu, and their daughter’s hands were clasped together. The powerful image of the tiny baby’s hands cradled by their parents’ protective hands evoked warm feelings of family unity.
Andy’s family photo was prominently displayed at the fan gathering and also distributed to all fans that attended the event. Fans cherished the photo keepsake, as it was a memento of one of Andy’s most important personal milestones in becoming a father. Andy’s “Little Dragon Girl” was blessed as she had entered a world with already millions of people loving her!
Regarding his fans as his own family, Andy Lau expressed his gratitude for his fans’ long-time support. Yesterday, he left a message on his fan site, “With this family, love is all around because of your support for the last 24 years!”
Andy’s Family Returns to Malaysia
Andy Lau’s management company, East Asia Entertainment Ltd. confirmed that Andy, his wife, and daughter will be moving back to Malaysia at the end of June. Apparently the 50-year-old superstar preferred the greater privacy that Malaysia offered, in comparison to Hong Kong’s aggressive media. Furthermore, Andy’s wife, Carol Chu’s family resided in Malaysia.
Tabloids reported that Andy had splurged $60 million HKD on two luxury mansions in Malaysia recently. Andy reportedly will be converting the two mansions into one spacious residence to allow his family to live in greater comfort.
