Hi, I view my hard drive on my laptop (Vista) and pc (xp), the files now show when I use XP but now it doesn't show up on my laptop. It says I have 300gb memory's worth and when I open the file, it says 'This file is empty'. Is there a solution to this? I have tried changing the properties to show hidden files and it still doesn't appear.

Is it a portable external hard drive? It could be formatted in the "exFAT" format.
XP only reads FAT32 or NTFS
