What camera should I get?

The subject and the background will be bright.

you can always hold a napkin over the flash area, that way there will be some light shinning on the object but not over exposed
the bendable tripod would be the gorillapod you are referring to? i find it expensive compared to an actual stationary tripods

Actually I didn't say Slow Synchro is bad. I don't have much problem with the lighting.
It looks good when you want to use flash and you want everything around to be nice and bright.
I think most camera have slow synchro in the manual mode. (my old camera has this)
The color of the flash turns out to be a little yellow.
If you use auto flash, the flash is white, but only the subject is bright and the background is dark.

nvm, I don't want a tripod.
