im not good at all, im known to be lazy in my school, i almost finished Gong Gee Fok Fu Kuen, know the basics to Fu Hok, but yeh definitely not good at all...
btw "From 1944 to 1969 she taught martial arts at the "Wong Fei-hung National Art Society" located on Gloucester Road in Hong Kong's Wanchai, later she would teach at the "Wong Fei-hung Physical Fitness Institute" until its close in 1980."
The HK Broadcasting Authority received 28 complaints about the <<Grace Under Fire>> finale, with viewers pointing out that some of the scenes were too bloody and disturbing to watch. TVB also received 3 complaints about the finale, with viewers pointing out that the scenes where Dominic Lam was repeatedly hit on the head with a stick and Elliot Ngok Wah’s head was banged repeatedly against the hard floor were too violent and bloody. In addition, there was a fire scene where many people burned to death, leading viewers to complain that there were too many deaths in the finale.
This was ok at best, I was hoping it get better as it went on, it did have few decent scenes but was to long for it's own good, some good performances all round though.
Main character was suppose to Liu but the scenes she gets are not outstanding, she should have gotten a lot more attention and focus, 1/3 the way in she suddenly falls in love with Wong Fei Hung, no build up, chemistry, nothing, makes no scene, then around 2/3 way in, focus isn't on her any more, only to appear in the last 2 eps.
Hard to judge her acting since she was dubbed, the dubbing was good, it fit her well, I wouldn't mind seeing more of her in the future if she can get rid of her accent.
I found Eddie and Kenny very under used in this, also Oscar, his character got off easy for child snatching but I enjoyed the chemistry between him and Liu(they make a good couple), he needs more roles and a comb
Ending was still normal tvb standard, nothing special, just more body counts, 2 things didn't make any scene, first, how did Kenneth's men not find the diary?
Second, Where in the world did Leung get that big knife from, was she hidden between her legs or what, for someone who wanted to leave everything behind, this makes no scene, why would she even have one, it's not like she could predict Kenneth appearing, mess up.
oh yea now I remember.. and the retarded brother... obviously he knew kung fu.. yet he only did like 2 scenes where he used it, which was kinda pointless. So yea, the retarded brother was stupid to have in the series in the first place.
There is no way Leung could be at right place at the right time, so she couldn't predict when Kenneth would appear there, also the fruit lady is already in the next train carriage by the time they sit down.
back in the day, there weren't inspections before boarding a train, no x-rays or securities so as long as youre not looking suspicious, no one will search you, I knew she would kill Sam Sui
reason: one scene where she tries to commit suicide, Kenneth comes and says all sorts of nasty stuff to her and ends by saying "ill make sure ill send a mourning card (fa pai) when you die", right there and then i thought "man if she lives, she would definitely kill him
not to mention, right before she kills him, he used her just to get on the train...is she that forgiving, i dont think so =)
although last thoughts on the series, im extremely impressed with Liu Xuan and her Hung Gar...I do take hung gar and knows Fu Hok, and seeing her perform it, was good, it was flawed, but a lot better than the guy who played Wong Fei Hung. She has good stance, and energy...very impressed with Liu's first acting job. I hope TVB gives her more chances and offers a long term contract with her
No Wong Fei Hung did not die in a fight, I believe he died peacefully in GuangDong
but yeh as I said, Leung probably did have a huge knife up her sleeves, girls trying to be a big chef wherever she ends up, it just Kenneth showed up, and it was convenient for her to use that knife early =P
^ You do know that Once Upon a Time in China is not accurate...its just a story to glorify Wong,
Jet Li never performed Hung Gar, and I remember seeing an interview that he refused to do Hung Gar cuz he was representing China Wushu, hence all the flashy moves in the movies, Hung Gar is more stance foot work than high flying kicks.
