What do you think of them?

On episode 15, the eldest 公主 finally got put in place, her acts are really annoying (for the purpose of the film) and I really think she deserved to be punished.

RE: episode 15

Besides the eldest and the third (charmaine) 公主, the rest are rather quiet ones (no difference between being a cameo [sarcasm]), I know it is because they are not being focused on...

Let me know your thoughts :jump:

Note about title:

I put 4 because the eldest one is no longer a 公主

I think that the eldest princess technically...

...remains a princess because she's born of royal blood. Nothing can take that away from her. She was simply stripped of her titles and was banished from the palace. Thus, she remains a princess, albeit without any of the trappings that one would associate with imperial Chinese royals.

The girl that plays her seems to unfortunately always get the self serving, back stabbing nasty bitch roles to play. It gets to the point that as soon as she walks on screen, one intuitively sounds "Bitch Alert" almost as a reflex, LOL...

That is so true, it is like Charmaine, she is always a goody character.

re: eldest princess
I guess your right, but her status is still removed anyhow. When they were taking the earring off, I thought they were gonna tear her ears off in order to remove the earrings.

Out of the Princessesesesess, I personally like Sharon the best.
She obviously is the evil foil to Charmaine's good. However, her looks are a little too edgy for me. I mean, she's hot, but not pretty. Sorta like what you would expect to see in China City, LOL...

same :) for some reason her hair looks kinda familiar....hm i think its supposed to make her look older (since in real life she's younger than charmaine sheh -rolleyes)

dislike Charmaine Li the most----technically her voice, from sunshine heartbeat to now, just cant stand her voice for some reason........every drama, "en yee"...Yoyo's hair doesnt really suit her bitchy bratty princess personality, but i like her a lot better as a bitch haha

Why 6? It was five at last count (3rd Princess vs the other four evil half sisters) wasn't it? -huh

Unless they introduced someone recently (I'm only up to ep 15).
Unless your talking about Linda Chung lol (MV showed her dressed up like a royal status), but I thought only those who carry the bloodline of the king can be princess/prince.

Same, I dl ep16 but don't have time to watch it.

Unless you're talking about someone like Der Ling, then anyone can call themselves "Princess" or whatever, LOL...

The Princess Der Ling: Two years in the forbidden city

...written in 1917, recalls the forbidden city during the closing days of the Qing Dynasty. It was authored by Der Ling 德龄 (daughter of a Manchu Bannerman), who became a sycophant to the Empress Dowager Cixi in the final days of her life and reign. Afterwards, Der Ling self proclaimed the title of Princess, and introduced herself as such, causing great controversy in its day. Anyone who wants to read about this full of herself character, should first read her book (the link above; free as it is no longer under copyright), to get a general idea of just how self indulged she was. Then look for other scholarly works that investigates her life:

Amazon.com: Imperial Masquerade: The Legend of Princess Der Ling (9789622098817): Grant Hayter-Menzies, Pamela Kyle Crossley: [email protected]@[email protected]@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/[email protected]@[email protected]@61tgszwUTsL

:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

A great story of hubris and self aggrandizement within the discarded relic of Qing royalty. Despite this however, the story that she tells, if one looks beyond the self serving nature of it, is an up close and detailed view of the social interactions and how life was like within the forbidden city at the turn of the 20th century.

SPOILER :shifty:

remember Charmaine and Linda came from the same place and they have so much in common? one day someone accused Charmaine is actually not the real princess the emperor was looking for, instead, Linda is the actual one!

But that still won't change the final number...

...it would only be a case of mistaken identity. So if Linda is the real 3rd princess, then Charmaine simply goes back to being a commoner. The number of princesses would remain the same, right?
