The twelve finalists for this year's Miss Hong Kong Pageant met the press officially for the first time today at the Beverley Hills villa complex in Taipo.

The ladies were introduced to the audience on the stage and then posed for photographs and answered questions from the waiting press. The average age of the finalists appears to have risen this year, with four of them aged 24 already. The majority of the ladies have entered occupations as students, two of the girls are flight attendants and Number 9 Tse Ching Ting (謝靜婷) is a private piano teacher.

Although the competition has only just begun, there has already been a steady stream of gossip surrounding some of the girls, in particular Number 3 Edelweiss Cheung (張舒雅) and Number 4 Ko Hoi Ling (高海寧), whose names have already gained familiarity with the reporters.

Wayne Lai to Lead TVB Series for the First Time

Wayne Lai Yiu Cheung, Rabeea Yeung, Gregory Lee Wing Ho, and other TVB artists born in the month of May appeared at the "May Birthday Party Celebration." Wayne's birthday was on May 4th, thus he already celebrated with his family. Delightfully surprising Wayne, his son delivered Wayne's gift via a remote controlled airplane.

Wayne also has another ideal birthday present. In July, Wayne will be filming new series "Wives and Mistresses In Groups"《妻妾成群》as the main lead actor.

Another "Forbidden Kingdom" Expected

The overwhelming box-office success of the action-adventure flick "The Forbidden Kingdom" has prompted its producers to shoot a sequel.

Sources from the film's Chinese investor and distributor, Huayi Brothers, said Tuesday they will once again collaborate with Hollywood for part two of the Jackie Chan-Jet Li film, the Beijing Times reported.

Myolie Wu Involved in a Love Triangle with Wong Hei and Kevin Cheng

Myolie Wu, Kevin Cheng and Bosco Wong, etc. were at a costume fitting for TVB's new series "Burning Flames III" today, and Myolie revealed that she will be involved in a love triangle with Wong Hei and Kevin Cheng in the new series. On the other hand, she won't be having any romantic storylines with rumoured boyfriend Bosco Wong.

Myolie tried on a wig for the costume fitting today to accomodate her new look. She revealed that she has never worked with Kevin (in a series) before, so she believes her pairing with Kevin will be fresh for the audience.

HK Stars Run Olympic Torch Relay

Andy Lau (劉德華), Jacky Cheung (張學友), Kelly Chen (陳慧琳), Leo Ku (古巨基), Eason Chan (陳奕迅) and Alex Fong (方力申) were today among the popstars who took part in the Hong Kong leg of the Olympic torch relay.

Windsurfer Lee Lai Shan (李麗珊), a gold medallist at the 1996 Atlanta Games, started the 120-person relay, which included athletes, officials, businesspeople and celebrities, through rainy streets of the city.

Tens of thousands of spectators lined the route which ran from the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Tsim Sha Tsui, to the Golden Bauhinia Square, Wan Chai.
